PHIL’S CORNER: Communicating With Us During COVID-19

As you know, COVID-19 has become more of a disruption in our state than we thought it might a week or so ago. This is a challenging time, and we know that the health and welfare of your attorneys, staff and clients are your top priorities right now.
As insurers, business continuity is of the utmost importance to us and we have systems in place to ensure there is no disruption in service during this difficult time. The OAMIC office is currently open. That said, some of our staff are actively transitioning to remote work and we are preparing for the possibility of a temporary office closure.
Whether in the office or at home, our systems enable us to provide you with uninterrupted service. While staff are reachable by phone, due to various employees working remotely, we recommend that email be your primary method to contact us. In your message, please feel free to specify if you would prefer we get back to you via email or phone call.
Our online portal also offers you the ability to take care of a variety of tasks, including requesting quotes and paying premiums. We would appreciate you using the portal as opposed to mailing checks, as mail service may eventually be delayed or interrupted.
If you have a claim with us currently, rest assured that our claims department is capable of handling matters via email and phone. While it is possible the courts may have some delays given the current environment, we will do everything we can to resolve things in a timely manner.
